Echinacea
Echinacea is a medicinal plant and has anti-viral properties. It is known for enhancing the immune system. All parts of Echinacea plant, namely flowers, leaves, and roots can be used for healing herpes. It can be consumed in the form of tea, juices, or pills.

Olive Oil
Olive oil is known for moisturizing the skin. It is rich in anti-oxidants and is one of the best home remedies for herpes sores. Take one cup of olive oil. Heat it in a pot and add some lavender oil and bee wax in it. Let the mixture cool down. After cooling, apply the mixture on the infected area.

Ice Pack
The simplest method at home to cure the herpes is ice. Ice provides immense relief in herpes pain. Take some ice and crush them. Fill the crushed ice in a plastic bag. Wrap the plastic bag in a sheet-like thick cloth. Place it on the sores for 10-15 minutes to get rid of swelling and itching. Repeat the method for multiple times in a day.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar helps decrease the severity of herpes outbreaks due to its disinfectant, astringent, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and dab it on the affected areas three or four times a day for two to three days. For best results, apply it as soon as you experience the initial tingling sensation. Be aware, it is likely to sting a little.

You can also add one or two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to one cup of water and drink it twice daily during flare-ups.

Hydrogen Peroxide
Being a disinfectant, hydrogen peroxide is a quite popular home remedy for herpes.
Apply a little 3% hydrogen peroxide solution on the affected area using a cotton ball. Leave it on for a few minutes, and then wash it off. Repeat the process every few hours for a couple of days.

You can also crush a lysine tablet, mix it with hydrogen peroxide, and then apply.

For oral sores, use a mixture of one part hydrogen peroxide and three parts water as a mouthwash a few times daily for two or three days.
Garlic
Garlic has natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that help combat herpes outbreaks. Research published in Planta Medica in 1992 found that a chemical called allicin present in garlic may have antiviral effects. Garlic oil also contains the antiviral compound ajoene.
Place a crushed garlic clove on the affected area and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Do this a few times daily for two days or until you see improvement. Be aware, it may cause a burning sensation.

Alternatively, you can apply garlic oil on the affected area two or three times daily. To make garlic oil, cook fresh garlic cloves in olive oil until they turn brown and then strain the oil.

You can also eat one or two crushed garlic cloves daily. This will also work as a preventive measure.

Manuka Honey

Black Tea Bags

Baking Soda

Cornstarch
This is another good home remedy that you can use to get rid of herpes. Take some cornstarch and apply it directly on the herpes. After some days you will see your herpes disappearing.

Milk
This is yet another effective home remedy for herpes. Take a cotton ball and soak it in a cup containing milk. Apply this cotton directly on the herpes. This will not only cause the herpes to reduce in intensity but will also make them disappear without leaving any scar.

Aloe Vera Juice
Aloe Vera is a very common ingredient used for a lot of health problems.Apply Aloe Vera extract or juice directly on the sores to reduce the redness and also to reduce itching in the sore area.

Use it twice a day for about 10 to 15 days to see effective results.

You can also consume Aloe Vera juice once a day to treat herpes.
