1. Apply On To Pimples Directly: To effectively treat pimples and acne naturally, you can apply tea tree oil directly onto acne and pimples. Because of its natural antibacterial properties, it can be used as a great alternative to the chemical treatments, which if applied can harm your skin. A little bit of this oil, when applied on to acne and pimples, can penetrate the skin and helps get rid of excessive sebum, exterminates bacteria and dry out blackheads and whiteheads as well.

Method:

(i) Take a small cotton pad and put a couple of drops of tea tree oil on it.

(ii) Dab the tea tree oil gently over the affected area.

(iii) Leave it on for a couple of hours or even overnight.

Method:

(i) Take a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and mix a couple of drops of tea tree oil with it. Alternatively, you may use honey in place of aloe vera gel.

(ii) Dab the mixture on to the acne or pimples with the help of a clean cotton swab.

(iii) If any mixture is remaining, you can store it in small lip-gloss containers – keeping it in cool and dark place.

3. Add It To Facial Masks: Consider mixing a few drops of tea tree oil with either homemade or store brought facemasks. It helps in exterminating bacteria and drying out pimples. Here are 3 facemask recipes that you can make at home using tea tree oil:

(i) Mix well 3 drops of tea tree oil with 1 teaspoon of organic jojoba oil. Add in 1/4th of finely chopped tomato and mash the mixture to form a spreadable paste. Apply this mask on face, neck and chest. Leave it on for about 10 minutes. Rinse the mask off using lukewarm water and pat dry.

(ii) Mix ¼ cup of plain (unsweetened and unflavored) yogurt or curd with about 5 drops of tea tree oil. Mix well these two ingredients together. Apply this mask on your face, neck and chest. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

(iii) Add in 3-4 drops of tea tree oil to 2 tablespoons of green clay powder, and also add in some clean water to form a spreadable paste. Apply it evenly over your face, neck and chest area. Leave the mask on for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

4. Use Tea Tree Oil In Facial Scrub: Try this effective tea tree oil facial scrub to treat acne. This homemade facial scrub is very effective for those who are suffering from mild to medium acne breakouts. You can also make this scrub in bulk and store in a bottle or jar, keeping in a cool and dark place.

Method:

(i) Take ½ cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of honey, ¼ cup of organic sesame or extra virgin olive oil and 10 drops of tea tree oil in a small bowl. Mix well these 4 ingredients together.

(ii) Gently scrub your face with this homemade tea tree oil facial scrub mixture for about 2-3 minutes.

(iii) Rinse the scrub off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Natural Beauty Tip: If you are suffering from stubborn acne, you can add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to the moisturizer and cleanser which you use daily. However, make sure that the mixture does not get into your eyes.
