Apples

Add fibre to the list of ways that an apple a day could keep the doctor away — this fruit is an inexpensive and easily available source of fibre. As with other fruits and veggies with edible peels, eat your apple au naturale.
The peels are an important source of fibre and nutrients like phytochemicals, Vakharia said. One medium apple (with peel!) has 4.4 grams of fibre.

Pears

There's a reason that parents give babies stewed pears when they're stopped up — one medium pear has 5.5 grams of fibre, which definitely goes a long way towards getting things moving along.

Corn

We're most familiar with the sunny, yellow version, but corn comes in a rainbow of colors—from pink to blue to black—each with its own special combination of antioxidant nutrients.
A single ear of corn, which is about a half cup of corn kernels, contains 2 grams of fiber. Popcorn is also a terrific—and low-calorie—fiber source, with about 3.5 grams of fiber per three-cup serving.

White beans

In addition to being rich in fiber, protein, and iron, white beans are one of the best nutritional sources of potassium—1 cup will cover 25% of your daily requirement for this hypertension-fighting nutrient.
Beans get a bad rap when it comes to gas, but the key is to amp up your fiber intake gradually, Brown says. "If you only eat (low-fiber) foods right now, don't suddenly switch to eating 40 grams of fiber a day, because that will cause a lot of stress to the digestive system.

Split Peas

Fiber: 16.3 grams per cup, cooked.

Go-To Recipe: Spinach and Yellow Split Pea Soup

A staple in Indian cooking, split peas form a terrific, protein-rich base for soups, stews, and dhals. This South Asian recipe is the best kind of comfort food: healthy, satisfying, and super filling.

Broccoli

Fiber: 5.1 grams per cup, boiled.

Go-To Recipe: Paleo Broccoli Fritters

This caveman-friendly dish is pretty simple. To make these fritters, just combine onion, garlic, broccoli, eggs, and almond meal. Once they hit the table, you’ll be surprised how much broccoli gets finished in one sitting.

Raspberries

Berries as not normally known for their high fiber content but 1 cup of raspberries contains as much fiber as 3 slices of most whole grain breads. Their sweet flavor makes them perfect for quenching sweet cravings without blowing your diet. Raspberries also contain over half your daily recommended intake of vitamin C.
